  You know you're NOT a JW anymore when...(add some)

  you don't automatically wake up with a headache on sunday morning.... you no longer go around (while in field service) mentally deciding what home you'll "have" after armaggedon.... every item of clothing you buy as a woman is not first assessed for its modesty value.... you no longer worry about the 144,000 watching you have sex...:).

  when on holiday you don't have to find the nearest kingdom hall asap (remember brother and sisters you are not on holiday from jehovah!!!).

  being able to laugh about having a numb ass at the assemblies from sitting and the hilarity in having to tell people that you found the meeting "uplifting" when really you were fighting sleep the whole time.... you no longer have to avoid entire sections of music stores in order to make sure you don't pick up and "demonistic" vibes from backmasked cd's.

  as i geoscienists i am also interested in these old large scale eruptions such as the toba eruption that occurred some 74,000 years ago.

  below geologists discuss the potential for an eruption at yellowstone, another site where we had a super eruption.

  Extremely interesting Hawk ... I've marked my calender for the BBC show ...

  ... i've been a big science buff since i used to conduct Bug experiments in my backyard trying to create a monster. Most just died, but a few escaped from my 'lab' ... so if you see a thirty-foot potato-beetle on the news, give me a heads up.

  the other day i was on a site....looking for a certian news clip i had seen where an older news guy get's mad at the news anchor that replaced him on air...anyway a hit came up reading old news anchor and i downloaded it.

  after it was done downloading i started playing it.

  this guy's handing out things to certain people he calls by name at a press conference.

  I just thought of another one ... does anyone remember this ...

  The great tightrope aerialist Karl Wallenda fell to his death in 1978 traversing a 75-foot high wire in downtown San Juan, Puerto Rico.

  I remember this because they kept showing it on the news. I can still see that old wobbling on the wire and they falling .... the cameras followed him down to the ground. I kept watching that man fall, over and over, mesmerized and horrified ....

  That image never goes away. Ironically ... '78 was the year My Book of Bible Stories came out. It was a bad year for kids all around.

  I used to be pro death penalty in my early post-jdub existence. i guess that stance had slipped into my brain from all the lurid tales of death wrought by the iron fist of God for any minor infractions or act of disrespect. this ideology was spoon fed to us dub children with the infamous, My Book of Bible Stories http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/86455/1.ashx .

  anyway ... i actually rented one of the 'Faces of Death' series. i was young, with friends, and i'm sure some drugs were involved ... but there was this segment of a man being electrocuted. I've been anti-death penalty ever since. it was the most horrible thing i've ever seen. it still gives me the willies just talking about it now.

  but us dub children were weaned on the stories of god's wrath ... and gleefully looked forward to his most elaborate mass murder ever.

  my parents went to the assembly this weekend.

  they were telling me about disciplining children... the speaker was saying how all babies are born selfish and demanding for their own needs and not anyone elses.

  the jist of the talk being about discipline, and training children ...ie taking them out for a good beating.. well, i don't know if any of you have ever 'just seen red!

  Sorry ... my finger slipped.

  But if you could give just one document to a die-hard dub in hopes in hopes of inserting a 'trojan' into their programming ... what would it be?

  I've made my first moves to nudge my mom toward free-thought, so far ... no dice.
